Trinity ViolaCase - Small & Medium Size

This original new case, based on the 2nd model of our Trinity ViolinCase , is still too big ( for most of airlines) to be brought onboard in a cabin-size suitcase, in the way it’s possible with the Trinity Violin Travel Set. But we can offer a viola case, which looks rather like a violin case for flight personal, and that’s already a progress. It can be combined with our existing separate Trinity BowCase.

Here are more good news:

It is possible to place this ViolaCase inside a suitcase or bag of certain measurements, which are accepted by quite a few airlines. We are offering these specially made bags as well.

Trinity ViolaCase comes in 3 sizes:

1. Small - for instruments up to 63,5 cm (25’’) total length - Available Now!

2. Medium - for instruments up to 67 cm (26,4’) total length and 43 cm (16,9’’) body length - Available Now!

In each of its sizes it’s the smallest and possibly the lightest and strongest viola case in the world! It’s as small as possible on the outside and as big as possible on the inside.

The result is a somewhat asymmetric shape , and it is unlike any other case.

Trinity ViolinCase is made of hyper-modern composite materials, used commonly in the airplane industry, combined sometimes with natural jute fiber. Layers of carbon and glass fibers , reinforced with a polyester core, are impregnated with resins in a laborious, highly technological process, done entirely by hand.
The composite shell can withstand substantial weight.. Carbon fiber is as strong and stiff as steel but much lighter. Glass fiber and jute fiber are elastic. Please, note: During the vacuum infusion process carbon or jute fibers may get twisted in some spots. It can’t be avoided and it doesn't influence the strength of the composite shell.

This sandwich structure is extremely resilient to any impact (the main cause of viola damages). Hardly any real-life accident can result in impacts as violent and persistent as those seen on this film.

The Trinity ViolaCase has a pure and simple internal design, creating enough space even for instruments with a very broad midsection. The outside lock, cut from solid aluminum, the full-height partition around the violin neck and virtually indestructible nylon hinges ensure a supreme side impact protection.

The click-lock mechanism prevents accidental opening. Press the cover down - you’ll hear a click. Adding the Kensington lock (see below) blocks the whole mechanism... To open - move the pin to the left.

2 back straps are made from comfortable, antislip neoprene. We use a simple, comfortable and weight-saving strap attachment-solution, as used by professional photographers. Pull the strap-end through the opening in the foot, adjust to the desired length and secure by pulling through loop.

The inside is covered with soft, insulating and lightweight fabric. Elastic pillows keep the instrument gently but firmly in place

Reflective aluminum-bubble foil under the top-cover provides an extra sun-heat protection and, together with fabric layers, ensures stable internal conditions.

The hight of the suport pillow under the neck-foot is adjustable, and the neck rests on the suspended suport.

There is space for extra strings, rosin and a humidifier or GPS-tracker. An optional music pocket is large enough even for big-size scores. It can be attached to the back of the ViolaCase .

For traveling with violin & viola we now offer an alternative to dragging a big double-case with you. You can take your ordinary single violin case, with all the bows inside, and carry your Trinity ViolaCase in your hand. Soon we are going to offer a soft case for Trinity ViolinCase and Trinity ViolaCase & 2 Trinity BowCases, so you can use both cases separately or together.

The ViolaCase can also serve as a light but extremely strong transport protector when sending a violin with a courier etc.

Trinity ViolaCase has a unique feature. You can lock it using Portable Combination Laptop Lock with a steel cable from Kensington (optional). All the cases ar prepared for it. Read more here (producer site). It prevents an unauthorized
opening and secures the whole case by fixing it to a firm object. You can lock the Trinity BowCase and the Trinity wheeled ViolaSuitCase at the same time.

Put in the T-Bar ™ of the Kensington lock into the slot in the metal plate of the ViolaCase’s lock. Of course you don't always need to use it; the case will still be securely closed.

Now, with the Trinity ViolaCase you can stress less... In a train - visit a toilet or take a nap. In a rehearsal – go out for a coffee.

It's quite impossible to break the lock itself or its anchor.

During a concert, in a dressing room - use it as a locker for personal valuables.

After the concert - have a few well-deserved drinks ;)

You can tape 4 pages together and place your instrument on them to check if it fits. The drawing shows the inner outline (within soft padding) of the Trinity ViolaCase, so this indicates the maximum size of an instrument in this Medium case.

Total length of "S" Size is 645 mm (40 mm shorter), other dimensions are the same.

Depending on the size of your Trinity ViolaCase and airlines you use most frequently, you can choose one or more bags, which we provide. You can, of course, carry the Trinity ViolaCase on your back , together with a Trinity BowCase (or even 2 of them) and all the other Trinity accessories.

Bags for bringing the ViolaCase as a cabin baggage

The Small & Medium Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in one of 3 cabin size bags of different types, allowed by some airlines. A cabin size viola bag can’t be as narrow as 35 cm (13,8’’) of our Violin size SuitCase, which works for all the airlines, but we offer some bags for bringing your viola onboard of some airlines as a carry-on baggage:

Trinity Wheeled SuitCase - Large

The Small and Medium Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in a Trinity Wheeled SuitCase-Large with measurements 56x45x25 cm (21.2 x 17.7 x 9.8 inch), which is allowed in following airlines:

Easy Jet, British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, El Al, Thai Airways, Jet 2, Level, Philippine Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines.

This Trinity Wheeled SuitCase-Large has a channel and the detachable handle for the Trinity BowCase, so you can “drive-in” onboard with the whole Trinity Viola Travel Set . Besides the Trinity ViolaCase there is a space for other things you usually bring with you (concert clothes and shoes, music, cosmetics etc).:

The Small and Medium Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in a Trinity Garment Bag (used normally for carrying a business/concert suits). You can order our version of such a foldable garment bag, which looks like an original from outside, but it’s empty inside, with space enough for your Trinity ViolaCase and many other necessary items.

The measurements of this bag are 57 x 54 x 15 cm (22,4 x 21,25 x 5,9 inches). It has a pocket for the Trinity BowCase too.

Airlines which allow such a bag are: Lufthansa, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Swiss

"Linear dimensions" Bag

The Small and Medium Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in a suitcase without wheels, which you can bring onboard of many airlines using the “linear dimensions principle” (length + width + high = 114-118 cm or 44,9-46,5 inch). These are: Delta Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Air Canada, Japan Air Lines, Quantas, Singapore Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Air New Zealand, TAM Airlines, South African Airways.

This bag is slightly bigger than the ”correct" measurements 56x45x15 cm (22x17.7x5.9 inches), but it should work. It can be used as well for bringing 1 or even 2 Trinity ViolinCases onboard. You have to carry your BowCase separately.

We disovered that it is possible to place a Trinity shaped viola case inside a suitcase or bag of certain measurements and shapes, which are accepted by quite a few airlines. We are now preparing a similar viola case construction as our new Trinity ViolinCase2, which can be combined with our existing separate Trinity BowCase.
Trinity ViolaCase should be the smallest and lightest viola case on the market. It’ll be extremely protective and good looking and will offer the same smart features as its smaller violin sister.

Case sizes...
The Trinity ViolaCase we’ll be made in 3 different sizes:
1.    Small - for instruments up to 65 cm (25,6’’) total length
2.    Medium - for instruments up to 68 cm (26,7’’) total length and 43 cm (16,9’’) body length

The Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in at least one of 3 cabin size bags of different type (depending on instrument’s size), allowed by some airlines, which we are going to offer as well.

A cabin size viola bag can’t be as narrow as 35 cm (13,8’’) of our Violin size SuitCase, which works for all the airlines, but there are some other methods of hiding/concealing a Trinity ViolaCase:

A Small Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in a suitcase without wheels, which you can bring onboard of many airlines using the “linear dimensions principle” (length + width + high = 114-118 cm or 44,9-46,5 inch). These are:
Delta Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Japan Air Lines, Quantas, Singapore Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Air New Zealand, TAM Airlines, South African Airways.
We have already the prototype of this bag with measurements 56x45x15 cm (22x17.7x5.9 inches).
It can be used as well for bringing 1 or even 2 Trinity ViolinCases onboard.
You have to carry your BowCase separately (but soon we’ll have a clever solution for bringing them onboard unnoticed as well).

2.
A Small and Medium size Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in a wheeled suitcase with measurements 56x45x25 cm (21.2 x 17.7 x 9.8 inch), which is allowed in following airlines:
Easy Jet, British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, El Al, Thai Airways, Jet 2, Level, Philippine Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines.
This Trinity Viola SuitCase will have a channel and the detachable handle for The Trinity BowCase, so you can “drive-in” onboard with the whole set (exactly like with Trinity Violin Travel Set).

3.
A Small, Medium and Large size Trinity ViolaCase can be placed in a “foldable garment bag” (used for carrying a business/concert suits). We are preparing such a garment bag, which looks like an original from outside, but it’s empty inside, with space enough for your Trinity ViolaCase and many other necessary items.
The measurements of this bag are 57 x 54 x 15 cm (22,4 x 21,25 x 5,9 inches). It will have a pocket for the Trinity BowCase too. Airlines which allow such a bag are: Lufthansa, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Swiss

So, depending on the size of your viola and airlines you use most frequently you can choose one or more bags, which we are going to provide.
You can, of course, carry the Trinity ViolaCase on your back, together with 1 or 2 Trinity BowCases and all the other Trinity accessories.
It will take several more weeks until we have such a Trinity ViolaCase ready and we’ll start with medium size, which will fit in a wheeled Trinity Viola SuitCase (no. 2). That will be a big improvement already.
Here you can see pictures of our Trinity ViolaCase model in progress inside the prototype of the small cabin size Viola Suitcase, without wheels. As you can see there is a lot of space around for other things you may need on tour. You can carry it on your shoulder.
